Rise of the Tomb Raider is an amazing game that I own for both the Xbox one and for my windows 10 gaming computer. The difference between the two are very noticeable I actually prefer gaming on my Xbox one for numerous reason, one of them being the fact that most of my friends are currently using that platform for their gaming needs, unfortunately the Xbox one and the PS4 cant come close to the sheer power of a high end PC. One of the most notable differences pertains to Nvidia hair physics. I know what you’re thinking… who really cares about hair? I also believed to feel the same way until I cranked the graphics settings all the way up to Ultra with Nvidia hair physics on high on my MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti DirectX 12 GTX 980TI GAMING 6G 6GB at 4K resolution. The game felt like a totally different game from the Xbox One port. It began to look so spectacular that I realistically wasn’t able to tell the difference between the beautiful realistic CGI cut-scenes and the actual in game action. It made me wish that all my current console friends were on steam rather then PSN or XBox Live. I am now convinced that whenever I play a game on a console I am being robbed of its full potential! While i am indeed happy to be fortunate enough to experience this fantastic game the way the developers truly meant for it to be experienced, I can’t help but feeling sorry for the countless people that only got to witness such a master piece at 1080p/30fps. In fact, my girlfriend who isn’t very fond of gaming, couldn’t peel her eyes away from the screen once I hooked up my computer to my 55″ Samsung JS8500. She truly believed it was a Tomb Raider movie, until I ended up falling off a cliff! I was very surprised by how well the MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti DirectX 12 GTX 980TI GAMING 6G 6GB handled the game at 4k without G Sync. It was able to render all the action above 60 FPS, with the exemption of a few very demanding scenes where it dropped to a very respectable 40 – 45 FPS.
